National Technology Day

Today we observe National Technology Day.  Whether it is something as complex as our laptop computers, a simple claw on the end of a reaching stick, or something as curiously trivial as a handheld spinning device which supposedly helps Attention Deficit Disorder, technology is all around us. January 6th is the day to appreciate these modern mysteries and marvels. National Technology Day was founded by StoAmigo, a technology company out of Las Vegas. It has been an official National Holiday since 2017.

It is almost impossible to imagine a world void of technology, because it pervades our lives to such a vast degree.  Also, technology itself encompasses an ENORMOUS range of functions.  With respect to our everyday life, there are several applications, or apps which are available right now via our smartphones. Just as technology itself has been applied to almost every conceivable facet of our society, there are apps for almost every conceivable need.

Some of the best of 2017 were:

Astro: Astro is an email organizing AI app which learns the user’s habits and assists in message handling. It also includes message scheduling options and the ability to schedule snooze emails.

Clips: Clips is a video app for Apple devices. It lets you create movies out of short clips and includes several editing options and filters.

HQ: HQ is a quiz app on steroids: Twice a day users are allowed to log in to answer trivia questions which are given through live video feed by a charismatic host for REAL money. Hundreds of Thousands are playing daily, making it one of the biggest breakout games of the year.

For us at Shredbin, we are excited to live in such an exciting intriguing time. The technology which is now available for us has far exceeded our own expectations, and we are ecstatic to have access to the technological tools which allow us the freedom to contribute our own ideas and creativity.
